FABERGÉ INVITE FREDRIKSON STALLARD TO DESIGN EGG FOR THE BIG EGG HUNTMarch 1, 2012 11:03 am
For the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, giant egg sculptures by leading artists, designers and architects from around the world were placed across central London. Fredrikson Stallard, with the generous support of Creation Workshops, transformed their egg using CorTen steel. By doing so the sculptural qualities are emphasised, bringing connotations of Fine Art sculpture more closely associated with the evolving patina of the rusty steel finish. The Fredrikson Stallard signature was engraved boldly into the eggs surface as a humorous touch, with visual references to the branded commercial chocolate egg. The proceeds from the auction of the sculptures go to charities Elephant Family and Action for Children.
